If you haven’t already done so, please create an account on Facilitron, request the dates and fields you are looking for, and upload your certificate of insurance.

Any event where 500 people or more, Jersey City Police Department presence is required. Officers will also be required for traffic control if there will be a large number of pedestrians that are expected to share roads with vehicles. If a party is requesting police presence, they will bear the cost of the request. The Off Duty Office within the Jersey City Police Department can provide estimates which can be used to calculate any associated costs.

Please note, the City of Jersey City will only approve requests with a valid certificate of insurance uploaded to the request and will approve requests on a quarterly basis:
• Q1: January-March
Requests Accepted Beginning:August 1
Permits Issued: October 1
• Q2: April-June
Requests Accepted Beginning: November 1
Permits Issued: January 2
• Q3: July-September
Requests Accepted Beginning: February 1
Permits Issued: April 1
• Q4: October-December
Requests Accepted Beginning: May 1
Permits Issued: July 1
FOR MULTIPLE DATES, PLEASE SUBMIT ALL REQUESTED DATES WITHIN THE ABOVE QUARTERLY PERIODS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE QUARTER.

Our goal is to be fair to everyone. This quarterly process will allow us to be fair to organizations who are only asking for one or two dates, as well as accommodating those with multiple requests.

***Please request only the dates, times and fields you are going to utilize, if you don’t utilize the fields on requested dates, your permit can be revoked and or penalized in future requests.

REMINDERS:
· Any scheduled events can by cancelled by the Jersey City Department of Recreation & Youth Development for any reason at any time (as indicated on the permit).
· The City will only be approving requests that have a valid certificate of insurance uploaded to Facilitron with their request.
· In order to accommodate your date request, we may need to suggest an alternate field.
· Please only submit request(s) by quarter AND for the quarter we are accepting for as outlined above. Any requests submitted outside the quarter we are accepting for will be denied.
· Anyone that uses any city field/facility without a valid permit may jeopardize the individual or organization from obtaining a permit in the future.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant is required to furnish to the Department of Recreation and Youth Development (RYD) a Certificate of Insurance (Certificate) showing evidence of a minimum of $1,000,000.00 each occurrence Commercial General Liability and $2,000,000 Aggregate. The certificate holder should be City of Jersey City, 280 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302. The Certificate shall name the “City of Jersey City, its officers and employees as an additional insured on a primary, noncontributory basis” arising in connection with Applicant’s operations.
