Word on the Street: Florida Adds Services & Fees for COVID-19 Cleaning

With facilities slowly becoming available, a variety of fees are being applied to cover new cleaning requirements.

Word on the Street can report now that Facilitron partners in Florida are adding fees for COVID-19 cleaning. The fees are mandatory and will be automatically applied to requests by community organizations using school facilities.

Case Study: School district in Western Florida

Due to additional requirements for COVID-19 cleaning, this district has mandated that a school custodian be on campus for the duration of any external use event. A flat $15 fee is being added to each reservation to cover the cost of cleaning supplies.

Case Study: School District in Central Florida

Due to additional requirements for COVID-19 cleaning, this district has concluded that they will decide on a case-by-case basis how many hours a school custodian must be on campus during external events. They are adding an $80 flat fee to each reservation titled “professional sanitation.”
