6/8/20 UPDATE - PLEASE READ: The following guidelines for the limited re-opening of MISD facilities follow the guidelines of TEA (Texas Education Agency) and the CDC (Center for Disease Control).

All gymnasiums will be closed for public use at this time. Only facility parking lots, auditoriums, cafetoriums, cafeterias, stadiums, and fields will be available for rent. Each rental request will be monitored for capacity attendance based on the most recent Governor’s Executive Order which is outlined in the guidelines below.

GUIDELINES FOR PARTIAL RE-OPENING AND USAGE OF MISD FACILITIES EFFECTIVE JUNE 14, 2020

Avoid being in crowded areas of an auditorium, such as the foyer before or after the performance or during an intermission.

Keep at least two empty seats (or six feet separation) between parties in any row, except as follows: Two or more members of the same household can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side. Two individuals who are not members of the same household but who are attending together can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.

Alternate rows between attendees (every other row left empty).

Encourage attendee’s or congregants who are sick or who have had close contact with a person with COVID-19 to stay home.

Advise those with exposure to a person diagnosed with COVID-19 to stay home and self- monitor for symptoms, and follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop.

Advise attendee’s and congregants with symptoms of COVID-19 or who have tested positive for COVID-19 not to return to the facility until they have met CDC’s criteria to discontinue home isolation.

District staff will perform important duties (e.g., open facility, **disinfect and clean facilities after each usage, provide hand sanitizer and restrict the availability of restrooms). If there is a need to increase cleaning and safety protocols to accommodate additional services, additional costs will be assessed.

Communicate clearly with staff and congregants about actions being taken to protect their health.

Signs will be posted  in highly visible locations (e.g., primarily at all entrances and restrooms) that promote everyday protective measures pdf icon and describe how to stop the spread pdf icon of germs (such as by properly washing hands and properly wearing a cloth face covering image icon).

In the event a person diagnosed with COVID-19 is determined to have been in the building and poses a risk to the community, it is strongly suggested to dismiss attendees, then properly clean and disinfect the area and the building where the individual was present before resuming activities.

** CLEANING OF FACILITIES**

Regularly and frequently clean and disinfect any touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, tables, chairs, and restrooms.

Disinfect seats between and after services/activities with an Electrostatic cleaning device

Disinfect any items that come into contact with attendees.

Make hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, soap and water, or similar disinfectant readily available.

COST SUMMARY

As with all costs for rentals, please refer to the current fee schedule on the MISD website. The user will be directed to the web based rental platform used by the District called Facilitron.

All updates from the District in relationship to COVID-19 will be posted on the Facilitron website.

During this time, there may be additional costs due to the increase of supervision required at each rental location.
