COVID-19 Announcement:

"After conferring with regional educational partners, state and local health officials, the Governor’s Office and the Georgia Department of Education, and with the safety and wellbeing of our students, employees and the community at large at the forefront of our minds, Dougherty County School System will be closed beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020 and will now remain CLOSED through the remainder of this school year. The safety of our students, employees and community will always be our first priority."

Community Spaces for All Your Activities
Alice Coachman Elementary School was named for Alice Coachman, a native of Albany and the first black woman to win an Olympic gold medal. The school opened its doors on August 23, 1999, with a strong commitment to a quality education for all of its students. The school's mission is to provide an opportunity for students to learn in a safe, structured, orderly environment with strong emphasis on a firm foundation of knowledge, high academic achievement, and a variety of educational experiences that will lead to personal success.
